Where Did You Find Your Dog?

Sonny was rescued by Kyle’s New Hope Animal Rescue, Cincinnati, Ohio 
June 2011 from a kill shelter in Kentucky.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

Sonny was actually supposed to be euthanized on a Friday (he had mange & the shelter couldn’t treat medical issues). My mom & I volunteered to do transport (from shelter to rescue to foster). Neither one of us could get out of work on Friday to pick him up, so we begged and pleaded that they save him till Saturday morning. We get down there Saturday morning and they take us into a room to meet Sonny & evaluate him. Sonny (very thin and mangey) comes flying through the door (literally full speed) and jumped right into my lap like, “I knew you’d come… I knew you’d save me!”

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Everywhere he goes he leaves paw prints in every heart. I have been truly blessed to have such a gentle, happy, innocent soul in my life. He is my lil’ ray of sunshine.
