Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

Adopting Sam was one of the most amazing days. I had just recently moved into the city and into a new apartment. I absolutely did not intend on adopting a dog that day, but I did want to start looking. I wanted a dog so bad but I knew that it would be difficult because I just moved. My roommate and I were driving to the shelter from an Art show and along the way I was telling her about my dad. He passed away a few years back due to a hit and run motorcycle accident. My roommate and I haven’t known each other very long so she wasn’t aware of what happened to him. I wanted her to know because it obviously had a very big impact on my life. We arrived at the shelter and I went through the small dogs and puppies area looking and then I saw this puppy laying in a kennel. He was so calm and so sweet. I didn’t look at his paperwork or anything and knew that I was head over heels. He was the only dog I looked at that day. After deciding I wanted to get to know him b etter, I looked at his paperwork and noticed his name was Sam – my dads name. To me that was an automatic sign that he needed to come home with me.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Sam has made my life so much brighter. I had good things going for me before I adopted him but I truly believe that I would not be as happy as I am today without him in it. His love and devotion everyday is unlike any other. We challenge each other constantly and with that comes constant rewards. I believe we have changed each others lives. It has truly been a wonderful experience adopting him.
