Princess Waffles Marie Buttercup

  • : Waffles has made me an advocate for saving other Pitbulls and giving them a safe environment to be evaluated and to decompress from being in a shelter environment. Since adopting her I am now on an animal welfare board and have fostered countless Pitties incorrectly labeled “potentially or extremely dog aggressive” like she was. She has changed my life and made me find what I am truly passionate about.
  • : When I first brought Waffles home I was nervous about what I had gotten myself into. She was originally surrendered to a rescue on a reservation after being abandoned by her owner. She had spent the first 18 months of her life chained to a shack with little to no human contact. She had absolutely no manners, no training, didn’t listen and probably had never been in a house before. She had to be with me every second of every moment, no exceptions. I think she was afraid that if she fell asleep I was going to leave so she would sit on my head when I was sleeping or lay on top of it and smother me. The moment I knew the two of us were meant for each other was when I realized she needed me as much as I needed her. Waffles absolutely loves and she is my best friend. She still has to sleep with our faces next to each other with her nose nuzzled in my neck. She is a silly, sassy, stubborn girl and reminds me a lot of myself.
