Where Did You Find Your Dog?

We first rescued Nadia from the Indianapolis Humane Society in August of 2012. We decided to get an adult dog because they are often looked over at the shelter. She was terrified and hiding in the back of her cage. I laid on the floor and eased her forward. Once we took her out to play, she was immediately happy and a different dog. We filled out the form then and there.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

I was going through a lot of personal struggles with anxiety and depression. Nadia was always by my side or on my lap snuggling and giving me hope. She forces me to go outside and play with her, ultimately making my life better. She always has love for me, and never makes me feel unwanted or unloved.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

She is the positivity at the beginning and end of each day. She is my body pillow at night when I sleep, and my running partner when I go for runs. I am her life, and she is mine. If I move out of sight from her, she goes and waits for me to return. I can’t imagine my life without her in it.
