Where Did You Find Your Dog?

I didn’t really find McCoy, he more or less found me! I had fostered a pit bull through a rescue organization and after he had been adopted, I was asked if I would be interested in fostering another pit bull. Having heard he was only 1.5 years old and had been in a shelter for more than a year, and getting depressed I couldn’t say no!

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

I cant say there was an exact moment, it was definitely a process. Having been in a shelter since puppyhood he had no manners, no obedience training, and he was skinny and his fur was patchy and rough from not eating due to his depression. But I think its because I had to start from scratch with him that we bonded so much. We worked really hard together. Plus he has these intense gorgeous yellow eyes that I could stare into for days!

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

He has taught me to forgive. Everyday people cross the street or turn the other direction when they see me walking my pit bull. It broke my heart that people were treating or stereotyping this little angel who had endured so much for so long. But the great thing is that he doesn’t seem to care! He just keeps walking and wagging his tail and i realized theres nothing I can do about it except to forgive these individuals, stay positive and keep walking forward like McCoy! He’s the best!
