How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?
I’m a good dog and wouldn’t hurt a fly! Hi my name is Lance, and you already know how my life started and how bad it was. I was rescued and ended up at a great shelter known as Best Friends Animal Society in Southern Utah along with 21 others; where with love, understanding and kindness they have given us a good life. Several of the others have already gone to their permanent homes. Each day I continue to improve and I’m working my way toward joining my permanent family that has been waiting for me for the past four years. Still don’t know who I am? I’m one of the former Michael Vick dogs; now known as a Vicktory Dog at Best Friends. UPDATE (May 2014): Lance, and all the Vicktory Dogs, were required to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC) before they could be released to their adoptive homes. Well, you see, Lance struggled with the testing. He would do well with each task separately but when it came time to test he would freeze up. We had the pleasure of meeting George Bjornson who was waiting to adopt Lance. Though George lives in Tulsa, OK and runs his own rescue, Cupid’s Bridge Animal Rescue, George made time to visit Lance and never stopped loving or believing in him. Over time and with love & dedication, Lance came around to believing that not all people are monsters. The only thing standing between Lance and George was Lance’s ability to pass his CGC test and a final court hearing awarding his release. George has been waiting patiently for six years and TODAY was the DAY that he got the good news!!!! Lance has passed and has been given court approval to be released. He will finally have the life he has always wanted and so deserves – in a very loving home. Lance – today is the first day of the rest of your life. The time has come for you to go home.
