Where Did You Find Your Dog?

French Bulldog Village Rescue & Adoption (Dexter was being fostered in Southern California).. Dexter had been in 3 homes and was in his fourth home, which was a foster home with FBV.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

It actually took a full day of being with Dexter. I drove down to Southern California from the Bay Area (Northern California). I drove half-way home when we stopped at a hotel. Dexter was very shy and nervous and he went to bed as soon as I turned off the lights. When we arrived back home, he kept his distance until I started to put together dog toys for him. How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Well, Dexter is very photogenic, and so he gets noticed quite a bit from all the photo contests in which I have entered. Now, people think I’m a half-way decent photographer. He has also made me slow down and appreciate what I have. Due to Dexter’s multiple homes during his first year of life, as well as his medical issues, he pretty much has to go everywhere with me. Most importantly, he made me realize that I should use my skills to help an organization find permanent, loving homes for any animal available for adoption. At the end of May, I became the new Development Director for the Kauai Humane Society, and cementing my Aloha for Animals.
