- : I have another dog who is my love. But Captain helped fill a sadness of losing my old girl, and helped me get through some rough times I had been having. He makes me laugh, both dogs do, but to see my dog so happy and captain blend right in made getting up in the morning a little bit easier.
- : I have volunteered for the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter since I was 17. So I am in on and off. I had recently lost my previous dog who I adopted when she was 15. And it left a pain in my heart. One saturday I was walking through and saw this dog still on stray hold. He looked at me and put his body to the cage and it was love at first sight, I couldn't stop thinking of him. I had a foster at the time who was rather challenging, and could not adopt him. But he was stuck in my mind the whole time. Luck would have it a foster with more room and safety for my foster opened up. I went to the shelter just on a whim a few days later expecting him to be snatched up already. But I walked in and there he was and I knew at that moment I was not leaving with out him
