I found my little girl on the side of the road basically running to survive. I followed her for a long while until her body gave up and she laid down to take a rest. She was in real bad shape – sores on her cheeks where bone was visible, skinny, overgrown nails, tummy troubles. She was terrified.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

The moment I saw her I knew she needed to be in my life and that I’d make the rest of her years make up for the neglectful life she lived for 11 years. As soon as I leashed her and she looked up at me with those big brown eyes which were almost fully blind. I knew that I didn’t just save her but she saved me, too.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

My hero has helped me overcome so much, she’s taught me to love life and myself no matter what happens and she’s always there for me to snuggle.
