- : Rico was dropped off at the shelter after he was attacked by another dog, his eye not in his socket, hanging on for life. He was saved by the amazing vets that work there and was put up for adoption for a new life. Having one eye seems like a disability, but for him it isn't. He's the happiest dog I know and it never bothered him. He showed me that you can come from bad times and troubles and still be okay and happy. He makes everyday of my life amazing, and I can't imagine a life without him.
- : I came to the humane society looking for a best friend. I found Rico at the back at the shelter, cowering, scared and alone. He just had his eye removed and he was sick. I bent down to his level to look at him and he came out of his corner and just looked at me. I knew we were meant to be together, that I was meant to be his mom. I was let in to see him and sat down. He immediately came and gave me a kiss and my heart melted. Taking him home was one of the best moments of my life.
