Where Did You Find Your Dog?

Misty was born in Bosnia in the backyard of a gypsy family. As her mother being an American Pitbull Terrier, the family thought they would make money with newborn puppies. But unfortunately Misty was the only puppy that survived in those not appropriate environment. Only a few months old, she was hurt by a gypsy boy who badly injured her eye. Because of the severe damage of her eye, she suffered from secundary glaucoma. Injured and in pain she was rescued by two courageous girls who took her away from that backyard where she didn’t get any medical treatment. On their way to help stray dogs in Kosovo, Misty was treated, sterilized and operated by TNR team from Slovenia.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

By supporting and following their work I found out about that poor little girl. And being a proud owner of one blind dog suffering from glaucoma (primary) I decided to take this dog from the streets of Bosnia. In the end of June 2013 I sat in the car and went to Banja Luka – Bosnia and took her home with me.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

We are trying to tell people around us that disabled dogs (and other animals) are a great companions too, with the moto that only disability in life is a bad attitude. -Alja from Kamnik, Slovenia
