Where Did You Find Your Dog?

My husband volunteered at a Rescue center in Ohio where he worked with ”bully” breeds. Angelina (Pit Bull) was rescued from a dog-fighting ring in Lorain County, OH and was brought to the rescue center. She was all scarred on her face, legs, had some missing teeth, her feet are webbed from living in a cage her whole life and was very skinny. Despite her horrible life she was still a bundle of joy and love and just wanted a soft human touch to love her. My husband worked with her every week at the rescue center training her with basic commands and giving her attention. When my husband and I had to put our dog to sleep (sadly) we knew that we wanted to get another dog in time to fill our home because it was missing something…a dog’s love. His first thought was Angelina and sure enough 6 months later she was ours. When we brought her home she didn’t know what the feel of carpet was, furniture, a bed, or even toys. Today she is the most fun-loving, sweet girl, and makes us laugh and smile each and every day. We love her to death. I always tell her she is the ”best girl in the world”.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

We knew Angelina was meant for us from the moment my husband started working with her. When she just sits in front of you, wagging her tail your heart melts and that is exactly what she did when we first brought her home. From that moment on, we knew she was meant to be.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Angelina has changed our lives in so many ways. She is our child and we would do anything for her. She brings so much joy, laughter and fun into our lives each and every day. We could be having the worst day ever and just coming home to her wagging her tail and giving you kisses & hugs (yes, she loves to hug my husband, every day when he gets home from work), whatever was bothering us doesn’t matter anymore.
