Kingston was sent to me in an email, the night before he was slated to be euthanized in a high kill shelter, due to over population and a poor behavior evaluation.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

Kingston, like many dogs, has a past. A past filled with abuse and neglect. As president of Bully Breed Rescue, we see this on a daily basis, but there was something different about Kingston. He was so fearful and untrusting, but looking at his eyes, I could tell there was something beyond his exterior. He chose me. He chose to trust me and allowed me to show him what it was like to be loved. With training and patience, Kingston has become an amazing ambassador for the breed, who loves all dogs, people, and children.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Despite Kingston’s unkind beginning in life, he has shown me that that it is possible to love again. No matter who has hurt you and been cruel, he gave me the chance to show him love. He has taught me resilience, and that you can be happy and forgive. Kingston is the perfect example of the true ”pit bull”, being resilient, having integrity and showing nothing but love and loyalty.
