You've probably heard about the monthly subscription services geared towards dog, like our friends Buddy's Box. Well, we recently learned about another that is directly benefitting shelter dogs! Be Pawsitve is a monthly box of organic dog treats that gives back to shelters. Each month they send your dog a new flavor of delicious oven baked dog treats, and for each one sent, another box goes to an animal shelter or rescue organization for the dogs in their care. We were thrilled to learn that Be Pawsitive was inspired by Travis Watson's visit to an animal shelter and the discovery of how great (and adoptable) shelter dogs are. Travis adopted Lola on that visit and the rest is history in the making. We, like Travis, believe that if more people understood both the plight of shelter dogs and their incredible potential, they would do more to help. We are proud to have Lola be a PBC ambassador, and anyone who orders from Project Blue Collar this month will also receive a free treat package from Be Pawsitive!
Guest Blog Post from Travis Watson, Founder of Be Pawsitive.
Lola went from abandoned shelter dog to CTO of Be Pawsitive, LLC. I definitely have her to thank for the inspiration behind my new company, Be Pawsitive. She is also a proud ambassador for Project Blue Collar and a great example of how rescue dogs are all around awesome. Back in December of 2011 I found Lola abandoned in a park and took her to the local shelter to get scanned and see if anyone had lost her. Unfortunately she had no collar or microchip, so they took her picture and put it on their lost dogs website but no one claimed her. She was then put into the shelter system. That was my first experience with an animal shelter and I learned so much about how many dogs are in shelters across the country and the major need for volunteers and donations that these shelters and rescue groups rely on. Well of course I adopted her and now we are working together to provide the best treats in the world to our customers and help other shelter dogs, too.
