Geoffrey is from the Wise County Shelter in Decatur, Texas. They're a very high-kill shelter.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

I had gone to the shelter a week before to evaluate pull and photograph 2 kill-list Border Collies with a rescue friend (We work with Ministry of Dog), and I was smitten with "Amos" (As they called him in the shelter), but assumed he'd be adopted quickly. The next week I saw him on the "Code Red" list, with only hours left to live so we hopped into the car and picked him up as a "foster". The day before I had met Geoffrey our 11yo dog had been put down from a brain tumor and resulting stroke, and we were still numb and in shock.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Geoffrey right off the bat clung to my 7yo daughter, who really needed someone to understand and comfort her. They've been attached since, and she is now taking him through training classes, and plans on showing him as her next junior showmanship dog.
