Where Did You Find Your Dog?

I searched petfinder for months trying to find the perfect pup to adopt, who I could share my life with. He was originally a stray from South Carolina, left to fend for himself at just around 8 weeks old with his siblings, until a kind neighbor took them in and connected with a shelter in Connecticut called Sweet Adoptables to help them find a forever home. It is through that shelter, with the help of petfinder, that I found my best friend.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

When I saw Bear’s picture on pet finder, I just knew I had to have him. He was the cutest little fluffball I had ever seen and it made me sad that he was originally a stray when he was just a little puppy. I knew that I had to be 100% sure I wanted him because I wasn’t going to be able to meet him before adopting him, as he as to be transported up from south carolina when a forever home was found. From the pictures, to talking to the rescue and hearing stories, I knew he was meant to be in my life.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Ever since I adopted Bear not a day has gone by that he hasn’t made me smile and made me grateful for being his mommy. Although he is only about 4 months old, and I’ve only had him for a month, we have a strong connection that cannot be explained. He goes everywhere with me! Including work at the doggy daycare where I am currently employed. He is the light of my life and I am excited to spend a long time with him, and give him the happy life he deserves. Who knows where he’d be,or if he’d be alive, if he hadn’t been found and rescued from being a stray by his foster mom. I’m so grateful to have him and the joy he brings to me, as well as everyone he meets, just shows that no matter what he’s been through at such a young age, he loves the world (and proves that dogs are the best). Adopting a dog was the best decision I have ever made!
