My husband adopted him from the San Jose shelter when he was about a year old.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

His name is Babu and he will turn 8 this year. I first met Babu three years ago when I moved to San Francisco and started dating Sriram (my husband). I was a different human being then; rabidly afraid of dogs and could never fathom why people had them as pets. Needless to say, my life has taken a complete 180 degree turn from those dark days of stupidity. Babu has single-handedly rescued me from years of dogless-ness and selfishness.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Because of him, I have a new found appreciation for life and living beings and the best part of my day starts when I get back from work and see his loving face and tail wag. He continues to inspire me to reach out and help, in whichever little way I can, others like him who are still in need of their forever homes. He has made me more human than I could have ever been on my own. All the best and keep the good work going!
