Where Did You Find Your Dog?

My dog, Russ, was my very first foster dog in February 2012. He was through the Louisville Animal Shetler and Derby City Dog Rescue. He was in the shelter for around 3 months before I finally pulled him. Russ was signed up for a program where he would be sent to a rescue in WI and I would only have him for a few weeks. Russ was sent up to WI and was there for around a month and a half, but things didn't work out. The local rescue had contact with the person that had him in WI and asked if I would take him back. I got Russ back in May 2012 with the intent of only having him for a few weeks. In December 2012, my husband finally gave in and saw how much Russ meant to me (which he name by the way, after the University of Louisville basketball player, Russ Smith) and he officially adopted him for my Christmas present!

When I saw his big goofy face after he came back from WI.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Russ has given me the courage to continue to fight for homeless animals. Russ has also helped me learn patience and to fight for Pitt Bulls every where who get a bad rap.
