My best friend and I had decided we were bored and we should go look at puppies, I mean.. Who doesn’t love going to see puppies?! We walked in joking about how we weren’t letting each other leave unless we had a puppy in our hands.. As we were looking at a little German Shepard puppy that was too cute for words, I stood up and walked around the corner and there she was. She was so happy to see us and her entire body looked like a little wiggle worm.. I instantly fell in love. We must have stayed there for 2 hours circling all the puppies and dogs, but my eyes kept going back to that silly happy pup.. I wasn’t expecting to get a puppy, but after I had facetimed my boyfriend, he fell in love too, and there we were, our joke when we had walked in was now a reality.. Mali was abused and left in a dumpster at a gas station.. Mali is the most kind hearted puppy in the entire world. She loves every person she sees. Everyone is her friend, and that to me is incredible.. That is a dog showing forgiveness. You don’t just rescue an animal, they rescue you.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

July 2013 I was hit by a drunk driver and then hit again by two more cars . I was in bed for months before being able to get up and moving around a little without pain.. My life was on complete pause and I felt completely ruined. When Mali came home with me, it filled that gap in my life. I felt sad, depressed, bored and lonely.. Mali fixed that instantly. She was too cute to have anytime to feel sad or depressed, I was working and playing with her so much, I was no longer bored.. I had her to wake up to, and cuddle up to at night.. How can you feel lonely when you have something that is so happy to see you every time you walk in the room? Who depends on you for everything? Who loves curling up with you and just watching a movie.. My hero has not only changed my life, but she saved me. The picture is when I first saw her. Wouldn’t you fall in love with those ears?!
