Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

We rescued Jaxon two weeks after losing our 4 month old puppy Tucker in a tragic accident. I was devastated, and didn’t know how to move on. Many suggested we get another dog, but I wasn’t sure I would be able to open my heart to another dog so soon. Boy was I wrong. I started searching online on all of the SPCA websites, just curious to see what dogs were available, I still wasn’t sure if I was ready. Then I came across a little black lab mix who then, was called Chipper. He reminded me of Tucker. I didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but I couldn’t help be drawn to his little face. He was 12 weeks old, underweight at only 7 pounds and had a ”battle wound” on his left shoulder (from a possible dog bite). We adopted him that very same day and it hasn’t been a dull moment since!

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

We resuced Jaxon, but really he ended up rescuing us. He helped us in a time of darkness and brought us back to life. Despite his rough start in life he was, and still is so full of energy and life! He has taught me patience, and how to live in the moment and enjoy the little things in life like a walk by the bay, or in the woods, running and jumping and just being happy. He brings me joy everyday, and is as smart as can be! I don’t know how anyone could have abandoned him!! I am so thankful to have found him and know in my heart we were meant to be together even if the circumstances that brought us together were less than ideal, I now believe everything happens for a reason.
