Where Did You Find Your Dog?

I was volunteering at an adopt-a-thon in Scottsdale, AZ . As I was walking around to look at all the beautiful dogs, hoping to find a forever home, I spotted Gia. Sitting in her crate, so quiet and sad looking. Her beautiful eyes are really what caught my attention. I had been wanting to rescue a pit bull for quite sometime, just waiting for the right one to have that connection with. Right away, I knew it was Gia. Two days later I brought her home and she has been my constant companion, love, confidant and the best dog I could have ever found. Actually, I think she rescued me! She was being fostered at a home from the Helping Orphaned Hounds.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

I felt this instant connection with Gia. It felt right when we met for the first time. I just knew that we had to be together. I was not about to let her go to another home.

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Gia has changed my life in so many positive ways. She brings such happiness and joy to my life. She is one of the funniest and goofiest dogs. You can’t help but to have a constant smile when around her. She is also gentle and quite affection. She wants nothing more than to be around people. I try to take her with me places, as often as possible. I like to show people just how wonderful a rescue dog and especially a pit bull can be. My life has changed since rescuing Gia and I’ve never looked back!
