Where Did You Find Your Dog?

We started fostering Athena (previously Isabel) from Animal House Shelter in Huntley Illinios, and then adopted her through there.

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

I knew we HAD to keep Athena because of all the things she had already been through. We believe she was abused/neglected because she was terrified of us and at first our other dog. If you even came close to her she would pee out of fear and would only come by you if you were sitting. The shelter never knows the whole story, but we do know they came from out of state. They first came from out of state to the shelter then went to the first foster home where they were brought back and then we came to get her and her one brother. While her brother bounced back Athena did not, and we did not want to put her through another home. Another reason we just knew is how our big girl Maxi took to Athena and instantly took the role to protect her and love her! They now cuddle constantly!

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Athena has brought us so much joy and pride! She makes strides constantly, and is no longer fearful! She walks straight up to strangers and wags that tail! It feels amazing to have changed a dogs life so drastically!
