Where Did You Find Your Dog?

I had been volunteering with STAF and they cross-posted Ace’s story. His owner had medical problems and couldn’t keep him and since he was already 11 years old the shelters were unable to take him. I had just bought a house and made sure I had a fenced yard because I knew I wanted a dog. When I saw Ace’s sweet face and heard his story I knew he was the dog to get!! I saw getting a senior dog as a plus, he was already completely trained!! Easy!

Tell Us About the Moment When You Knew that You Two Were Meant for Each Other.

A few hours after I picked Ace up I took him to my gym, I didn’t want to leave him alone right away and my garage-style gym was dog friendly. He stayed by my side the whole time and someone finally asked how long I had had him, I responded with a few hours. Needless to say, everyone was shocked with his immediate loyalty. I knew right then he was a keeper!!!

How Has Your Hero Changed Your Life?

Ace is the best dog ever in my mind. He is always by my side, he patiently waits for my return from my 12 hour shifts at the hospital, and he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Anyone that meets Ace realizes right away he’s the sweetest old boy around. I cannot imagine my life without my Ace man, his warm eyes and sweet soul have calmed me down after many rough days and kept me company on many lonely nights. He made my house a home.
